Think Outside the Bun!
Okay, so I am not a hot dog person, I have to be in the mood for a hot dog and I rarely think to put it on the menu. One day, I was in the mood for a hot dog, but without the weenie! So I went to a well known hot dog drive thru, I won't tell you which one, but I'm sure you can take an educated guess.
I pull up to the speaker at the drive thru, "Hello, may I take your order?" "yes, I reply, I would like a hot dog, but without the weenie"… silence.... then I hear, "I'm sorry, we can't do that!" all our hot dogs come with weenies." I explained I really did not care for the weenie, but really would just like the bun with all the fixings, again, I hear " NO, I'm sorry we can't do that." We make all our hot dogs with Weenies." So.... I decided to start all over... "Okay, I would like a hot dog, but before you hand it to me, just pull out the weenie!.... silence, Okay, please pull up to the window! Not that she was going to give me what I wanted; I think she finally just wanted to see the face of the nut who wanted a hot dog without a weenie!
Sometimes we get so caught up in doing things one way that we find ourselves in a rut and we loose our creativity. I love doing things out of the ordinary, like, having a picnic in my den, eating on fine china in the park, throwing “it’s not your birthday parties!” When I think back of pleasant memories, these are some of the things I think of…. Not eating a hot dog with a weenie!
Oh, by the way…. Yes, I got my hot dog… But, I had to remove the weenie myself!!!
Whew!… after a year of initiating my blog, this is my first posting!
